Canterbury & Ashford Bike Project


The Canterbury & Ashford Bike Project offer sessions to local Schools, community groups and young people of Ashford to learn and develop bike maintenance skills. They also provide a community bike maintenance hub and bike recycling scheme.

The Canterbury Bike Project was founded by Steve Sproston, a college tutor who developed this project to engage with students and provide them with a valued skill.

The bike project are able to tailor sessions to achieve specific outcomes for school/college students in their Young Persons Programme.  

The educational programme they run consists of a six-week course

  • One day a week

  • Practical learning

  • Certificate on completion

  • Pathway to level 1 qualification

  • Earn a bike scheme
